Gennadi Touretski è morto oggi in Svizzera all'età di 71 anni colpito da un ictus cerebrale. Il grande tecnico russo nato Leningrado e mentore dello straordinario Alexander Popov ha segnato un'epoca nel nuoto dagli anni 90 alla prima decade del nuovo millennio.
Oltre a Popov, Touretski ha allenato anche l'australiano Michael Klim presso l'Australian Institute of Sport di Canberra e nel corso del 2011 in Svizzera il grande Ian Thorpe .
