Il Consiglio direttivo della International swimming hall of fame ha deliberato, nella seduta virtuale del 9 marzo scorso, che a partire dal 2022 saranno accolti nell'istituzione anche atlete ed atleti paralimpici, portando così a nove il totale delle categorie di ammissione: nuoto, nuoto in acque libere, tuffi, pallanuoto, nuoto sincronizzato, sport acquatici paralimpici, allenatori, donatori e collaboratori, pionieri.
