Si rinnova la tradizione della 4x200 azzurra che in 7.06.05 conquista la medaglia di bronzo dietro alla Russia (7.03.48) e al Regno Unito (7.04.61) portando a sette il totale dei metalli conquistati dalla spedizione italiana in questa terza giornata di gare.
Una prestazione di grande equilibrio porta la squadra italiana sul podio e rassicura il Direttore tecnico Cesare Butini sulle prospettive di quella che è storicamente una delle punte di diamante della spedizione azzurra.
