200 STILE LIBERO D – Katie Ledecky ha vinto i 200 stile libero davanti alla 31enne Allison Schmitt prima al passaggio di metà gara (56.03), al touch finale 1.55.11. contro 1:56.79, la terza classificata Madde Paige, per un solo centesimo (1.56.80), è la prima delle escluse dalla qualificazione olimpica individuale, l’atleta è qualificata per la prova sulla doppia distanza, completano il quadro della staffetta Katie McLaughlin (1.57.16) e la 16enne Bella Sims (1.57.53).

200 FARFALLA U – Finale tiratissima con cinque atleti ai 150 metri sulla stessa linea, vince Zach Harting davanti a Gunnar Bentz, sono loro i pass olimpici della specialità, 1.55.06 e  1.55.34, rimane fuori dai Giochi per  7/100esimi di secondo il 19enne Luca Urlando (1.55.43) il favorito della vigilia che vanta un personale di 1.53.84.
