Si chiama Thomas Heilman ed ha 14 anni (2007) la nuova promessa del nuoto maschile a stelle e strisce, nel corso della prima giornata degli US Open, in corso di svolgimento a Greensboro in North Carolina, ha migliorato due volte il primato giovanile di Michael Andrews nei 50 stile libero, in qualifica nuotando 22.99 e in finale 22.93, invece nelle batterie odierne dei 10o farfalla ha ottenuto il primato giovanile dei 100 farfalla (53.43) nuotando il primo tempo utile per la finale pomeridiana, il giovane atleta è allenato dal tecnico Gary Taylor presso il team Cavalier Aquatics di Charlottesville in Virginia, da tenere sotto osservazione.
