La 19enne liberista neozelandese Erika Fairweather ha nuotato il nuovo primato nazionale vasca corta dei 200 stile libero ai Campionati neozelandesi in corso di svolgimento a Hawkes Bay (1.53.07), la medesima atleta ha vinto anche i 400 stile libero con un tempo (3.59.79) simile a quello nuotato in vasca lunga ai recenti mondiali di Fukuoka (3.59.59) alle spalle dell'australiana Ariarne Titmus che ha siglato il nuovo record del mondo (3.55.38) e dell'americana Katie Ledecky (3.58.73).
