Il quotidiano inglese "The Indipendent" riporta la notizia che il campione britannico Adam Peaty è stato coinvolto in un lieve incidente in seguito ad una lite con il compagno di nazionale Luke Greenbank durante un allenamento a Loughborough.
FOTO • On line circolano alcune immagini di Peaty con un paio di ferite sopra il sopracciglio sinistro.
Un testimone intervistato dal giornale ha raccontato: " La situazione è diventata molto caotica. Peaty ha adottato un atteggiamento presuntuoso e ha fatto una battuta che ha urtato Greenbank, scatenando una reazione molto accesa. Peaty è rimasto ferito al viso e ha avuto bisogno di cure mediche ."
Le dichiarazioni di British Swimming: " Durante una recente sessione di allenamento si è verificato un incidente, che è stato prontamente e efficacemente risolto dagli atleti coinvolti e dallo staff presente ."
Anche il team di Peaty ha rilasciato una dichiarazione sull'accaduto, spiegando che si è trattato di una lite minore tra Adam e Luke, avvenuta dopo una sessione di allenamento e che è stata risolta sul momento tra i due atleti.
