Il 28enne nuotatore singaporiano, Joseph Schooling, prima e unica medaglia d'oro olimpica di Singapore, campione olimpico dei 100 farfalla ai Giochi di Rio 2016 davanti al suo idolo Michael Phelps , ha annunciato il ritiro dalle competizioni tramite il suo canale Instagram .
"Oggi segna l'inizio di un nuovo capitolo: mi ritirerò dal nuoto competitivo [...] il nuoto sarà per sempre parte di chi sono.
"Sono ansioso di esplorare nuove passioni, affrontare sfide diverse e vedere dove mi porterà questa prossima fase della vita. Grazie ai miei sostenitori per essere stati al mio fianco in ogni fase del percorso.
