Il Congresso annuale della LEN, svolto il 16 settembre 2023 a Funchal, Madeira, ha approvato la proposta di cambiare l'attuale nome Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) in European Aquatics e di istituire un'Unità Indipendente per l'Integrità (EAIU) che si propone di combattere tutte le forme di corruzione e di scorretta condotta etica, di indagare sui comportamenti fraudolenti e di individuare le non conformità ai regolamenti di European Aquatics.
Altre due iniziative che sembrano seguire passo passo l'impostazione e le esigenze del governo mondiale del nuoto che da Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) e diventato World Aquatics con l'istituzione di Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQUI) , anch'esso organismo indipendente operativo dal gennaio di quest'anno costituito per assicurare elevati standard etici e salvaguardare il benessere di tutti i soggetti coinvolti nelle discipline acquatiche.
La prossima edizione del Congresso Elettorale di European Aquatics si terrà ad Atene, Grecia, il 27 gennaio 2024.
