Ci lascia coach Jon Urbanchek.

Il tecnico Jon Urbanchek, uno degli allenatori più vincenti e popolari del mondo del nuoto, è morto all'età di 87 anni. Ha allenato l'Università del Michigan dal 1982-2004, vincendo un titolo NCAA ed è stato capo allenatore degli Stati Uniti alle Olimpiadi nel 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 e 2004.  Colleghi ed atleti di tutto il pianeta lo ricordano.

Trentaquattro dei suoi nuotatori hanno partecipato ai Giochi Olimpici, vincendo in totale sette ori, sei argenti e quattro bronzi. Tra questi, atleti del calibro di Mike Barrowman (1992), Gustavo Borges (1992, 2000), Tom Dolan (1992, 1996), Dan Ketchum (2004), Brett Lang (1988), Tom Malchow (1996, 2000), Eric Namesnik (1992, 1996), Chris Thompson (2000), Peter Vanderkaay (2004), Marcel Wouda (2000) e Kaitlin Sandeno (2000, 2004).

USA Swimming mourns the loss of Coach Jon Urbanchek, who passed away yesterday evening at the age of 87.
