A Los Angeles si è svolta la 20esima edizione dei Golden Goggle Awards, gli Oscar del nuoto di Usa Swimming.
Il premio di miglior nuotatrice dell'anno se lo sono aggiudicate a parimerito Kate Douglass e Katie Ledecky. Kate ha vinto sei medaglie a Fukuoka 2023, compreso l'oro nei 200 misti, Katie nella medesima occasione ha vinto per la sesta volta in carriera il titolo mondiale degli 800 bissando poi la vittoria con i 1500 stile libero.
Il migliore nuotatore dell'anno è andato al dorsista Ryan Murphy, quattro volte sul podio mondiale di Fukuoka, individualmente per il titolo iridato dei 100 dorso e per l'argento sulla doppia distanza.
Erano il lizza per il prestigioso riconoscimento del nuoto statunitense; Katie Grimes, Regan Smith, Bobby Finke, Jack Alexy e Carson Foster .

A Dave Durden il premio di migliore allenatore dell'anno, tecnico dell'University of California (CAL), sei dei suoi atleti al mondiale di Fukuoka 2023 hanno vinto un totale di 20 medaglie, tra cui le medaglie d'oro individuali di Hunter Armstrong e Ryan Murphy. Insieme a Durden erano in lizza per il premio: Todd DeSorbo, Bob Bowman, Anthony Nesty e Ron Aitken.
