Al termine dell’8º Forum degli Atleti Europei svoltosi a Londra, l’estone Johanna Talihärm (biathlon) è stata nominata presidente della Commissione Atleti del Comitato Olimpico Europeo (EOC) per il quadriennio 2025-2029. Sarà affiancata dal canoista tedesco Ronald Rauhe come vicepresidente e dalla tiratrice serba Zorana Arunovic come segretaria.
Rieletta nella Commissione l’arciere Alexandra Longova (Slovacchia), a cui si aggiungono i nuovi membri Bendeguz Petervari-Molnar (Ungheria, canottaggio), Michelle Coleman (Svezia, nuoto) 51 medaglie internazionali in carriera, Emanuel Silva (Portogallo, canoa) e Dinos Jr Lefkaritis (Cipro, sci alpino).
Nel suo intervento, Talihärm ha espresso orgoglio e gratitudine per la fiducia ricevuta dagli atleti europei, sottolineando l’impegno a mantenere gli sportivi “al centro di ogni decisione” del movimento olimpico continentale. Il presidente dell’EOC Spyros Capralos ha salutato con entusiasmo il nuovo gruppo di lavoro, ringraziando tutti i candidati e definendo l’incontro “una dimostrazione concreta del futuro e della vitalità dello sport europeo”.
