Therese Alshammar in carriera ha vinto 3 medaglie ai Giochi Olimpici di Sydney 2000. Due argenti nei 50 e 100 stile libero ed un bronzo nella 4×100 stile libero. 25 medaglie ai campionati del Mondo di cui 12 d'oro e 43 medaglie ai Campionati Europeidi cui 26 d’oro. È stata Portabandiera della Svezia ai Giochi Olimpici di Rio 2016.
