Dalla prima giornata di finali niente di particolare da evidenziare, la russa Anastassia Kirpitchnijkova , campionessa europea degli 800 stile libero, vince la prova coprendo la distanza in 8.26.48, seconda piazza per la connazionale Anna Egorova (8.35.97), la canadese Mary-sophie Harvey vince i 200 misti (2.12.33), 100 stile libero piuttosto sottotono (56.39) per Charlotte Bonnet costretta ad un tour de force di prove in linea con la metodologia di allenamento del suo nuovo coach Philippe Lucas , queste le sue prove: 50,100, 200 e 400 stile libero, 200 e 400 misti.
