Nel corso del 2021 l'Agenzia mondiale antidoping (WADA) potrà contare su risorse aggiuntive grazie a donazioni aggiuntive per 2,6 milioni di dollari e a un contributo straordinario di pari valore da parte del Comitato olimpico internazionale (CIO). Complessivamente 5,2 milioni di dollari che saranno investiti in attività di ricerca scientifica e di indagini e investigazioni.
La stessa Agenzia annuncia anche di avere cooptato due nuovi membri nel proprio Comitato esecutivo: l'argentina Patricia Sangenias, medica sportiva, e l'italiana Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni (nella foto) . Originaria di Brescia, laureata in Lingue e letterature straniere presso l'Università degli studi di Venezia, Battaini-Dragoni è Segretaria generale uscente del Consiglio d'Europa. Dal 2004 al 2011 è stata Direttrice generale per l'educazione, la cultura, la gioventù e lo sport.
