Il Covid-19 continua a mettere lo zampino nelle competizioni acquatiche e stavolta ferma Femke Heemskerk . La stileliberista olandese, oro nella staffetta veloce a Pechino 2008 e argento quattro anni dopo a Londra, ha raccontato sul proprio profilo Instagram l'impiccio che la costringe a saltare l'imminente Meeting di Rotterdam (3-6 dicembre), appuntamento di qualifica per i Giochi di Tokyo 2021 :
Brutte notizie: nonostante i miei test per il Covid siano tornati negativi, è stata riscontrata la positività di quello di mio marito.
Per questo, non ho il permesso di gareggiare al Meeting di qualificazione di Rotterdam del 3-6 dicembre. Sono davvero triste di non poter difendere la mia qualificazione sui 50 e 100 stile libero.
L'essere risultata negativa ai test, rende ancor più difficile digerire questa situazione.
Ma potrei essere comunque un rischio per gli altri atleti.
Come sempre...tornerò!
